Partisipasi Masyarakat Dusun III Dalam Pengembangan Desa Bale Sebagai Desa Wisata

Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the level of community participation in the development of Bale Village as a tourist destination. The study used a qualitative research method with data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and documentation. The theory used in this study is the theory of community participation from Cohen and Uphoff, which covers participation in decision-making, implementation, utilisation of results, and evaluation. The results of the study show that the level of participation of the community in the development of Bale Village as a tourist destination is still not optimal. In the decision-making process, the community was involved in village meetings, but this involvement was still dominated by the village government and the tourism management team. In terms of implementation, community involvement is still limited because most of the tourism management activities are carried out by a specific group. In terms of the utilisation of results, the existence of the tourist village provides economic benefits for the community through business opportunities and job creation. Regarding the evaluation aspect, the community provided various suggestions related to infrastructure development, environmental management, and transparency in the development of the tourist destination. This study concludes that the development of Bale Village as a tourist destination has had a positive impact on the community, but increased community participation is needed through socialisation, community empowerment, and greater community involvement in the management of the tourist destination
